RIDE ROGRAMME SUNDAY RIDES - we ride rain or shine

The Ride Groups

Easy Riders: Short, slow leisure rides for beginners and riders recovering from time off the bike. Or anyone wanting to do a short ride. Around 1 hour. ( Distance 20-30km)

Pacers: Medium rides for recreational riders and those wanting to raise their fitness level. Up to 2 hours. ( Distance 40-50km)

Flyers: Longer rides for experienced faster riders. ( Distance 50-60km)


Items to bring on Sunday Bike Rides:
Road worthy bike, safety approved helmet, spare tube & tyre changing levers, bike pump. Must bring a full drink bottle and some energy food (muesli bar, banana etc).
Change of clothing - it does rain sometimes!
A smile on your dial.


Please wear high visibility clothing.

How to get to Spring Loaded Fun Park (Formerly Longridge), 316 State Highway 33.
About one km past Paengaroa village on way to Rotorua.
From Te Puke, continue on SH2, at the Whakatane turnoff continue straight ahead as if going to Rotorua. This is SH33. You will come to the small settlement of Paengaroa, just past Comvita. Spring Loaded is about 1 km on your right (opposite the 100km road sign) from Paengaroa village.

Beginners Tauranga Ride - Good safe ride for new or nervous riders
Tauranga Circuit - approx 47km
Paengaroa - Maketu - Mostly flat
Paengaroa - Old Coach Road - Up and down, low traffic, rural
Whakatane-Matata-TeTeko - Start at Matata
Karangahake-to-Waihi-Beach - a 70km all day scenic ride. Thru the tunnel and along the rail trail, stopping for teas and lunches. This is more for cyclists interesting in touring style cycling.
